Tech Lead Cloud Networking

As a Technical Lead, you ensure that Portbase has a future-proof vision on, among other things, cloud infrastructure, cloud networking, security & operational automation. Together with the team, as a Tech Lead you are responsible for implementing, optimizing and managing a connectivity hub that connects all traffic to the security platform, inspects and handles the traffic with the best possible customer experience. You have knowledge and experience with IaC, Cloudflare and Cloud Networking. Together with the team of engineers, you create new functionalities in the platform through an agile process, where you are responsible for coordination with the rest of the organization.

Because your technical output is of a high level, you as a Technical Lead are "Leading by Example". You are hands-on. In addition, as a Technical Lead you find a constructive team culture important, and this is visible in your team. You coach your team members on both personal and technical skills. The HR tasks for this team are assigned to the Manager Operations with whom you have a close line of communication. Thanks to your excellent stakeholder management, processes, goals and results are in line with each other and you know what is going on outside your team and how you can influence this.

Hands-on participation (cloud networking, infra & security) as an Engineer (50%).

Guidance and knowledge development in the team, process and stakeholder management and communicating your vision (50%).

• Experience with implementing and maintaining Cloud Networking Infrastructure & Security measures within a demanding environment;
• Preferably AWS and services such as VPCs & Transit Gateways;
• Analytical thinking skills to analyze problems with a focus on connectivity, traffic flows and security;
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform);
• Experience in the network edge & perimeter. Preferably Cloudflare and technologies such as WAF, DNS;
• An agile mindset and the desire to work in a DevOps culture. Don"t think agile, act agile;
  Interest in the complex (logistics) domains of Portbase;
• Active knowledge sharing within your team and the organization;
• Strong process and stakeholder management skills;
• Communicating your vision and working in a quality-oriented and results-driven manner;
• An emphasis on delivering functionality, where you only see technology as a means.
