Innovation Director Preservation - Food & Non-food

Purpose / Mission of the job: Key responsible to design the Preservation platform vision and strategy in alignment with the overall IC strategy, and drive its execution. Guarantee the right balance of the pipeline within own platform and among all platforms (short, long term and resources allocation and distribution as per assigned KPI"s). Liaise/aligns with key stakeholders (Business, Marketing, Ops) to keep building and maintaining a robust and meaningful pipeline. Manage the support provided by the IC to internal and external customers with related resources allocation.

High level of interaction with other departments and BU"s, able to convince/persuade BU and IC to develop and execute a plan. Responsible for delivery through projects, within budget and scope of strategy. Capable to work and lead in a matrix organization.

• Design and drive the platform strategy in collaboration with the business, marketing, and/or other stakeholders as needed for the assigned platform, while harmonizing the work among platforms.
• Translates the Innovation Center strategy into the platform roadmap and execute plans on time, within budget and against the quality levels agreed upon with key stakeholders.
• Manage the platform and give clear direction to programs/projects leads and provide the right and balanced allocation of internal and external resources. Ensures the right balance of own portfolio and the broader Innovation pipeline together with other platform directors and people managers. Challenges the validation of the projects within the platform of responsibility, in terms of cost/benefit balance, strategic fit, market attractiveness, portfolio balance, in order to facilitate the council decisions.
• Ensure an inclusive and engaging work environment.
• Safeguards the health of the pipeline for the platform of responsibility, and guarantees its success and evolutions according to the assigned KPI"s, knowing key target is to maximize profitability of existing solutions and launch of new ones, as well as sharing own solutions and assessing other platforms ones.
• Build trusted relationships internally, report portfolio progress against budget, resources, deliverables and timelines. Coordinate and facilitate meetings to discuss and resolve issues, bottleneck, take decisions.
• Translate new solutions and improvements of existing ones in line with Corbion"s markets and segments of presence into project opportunities.
• Plan the overall budget of the platform in order to deliver growth and business success in line with the Platform Strategy, Roadmap and KPI"s, in full alignment with the wider Innovation Center Strategy

  Dimensions: Quantitative data illustrating financial aspects/scope of the job

• MSc in microbiology or similar educations, any extra study is a plus; MBA preferred.
• Capable to translate market and business insights into profitable business opportunities.
• 15+ years of experience in business-driven innovation, 5+ in strategic roles.
• Ability to closely partner with marketing, business and other stakeholders, building strong and trusted relationships
• Drive for success, with strong analytical and decision making skills
