Location:
Maasvlakte, Rotterdam (5 days per week of which 4 days at the terminal)
We are seeking a driven, experienced and fluent Dutch and English speaking Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate can translate business queries into concrete project proposals and has an eye for projects from the global organization. This person can translate all this into business cases and plans. Additionally, the Business Analyst will be responsible for various PMO tasks, such as creating reports, preparing presentations, and writing decision papers.
The Business Analyst must have IT knowledge and preferably knowledge of or a strong interest in working at a container terminal. You will report to the Head of IT.
1)Translating Business Needs and Requirements into Project Proposals:
- Define project objectives, scope, and gather prerequisite documentation for select projects.
- Document business needs and translate them into concrete project proposals.
- Drive the demands to project execution/implementation.
- Work closely with the terminal Head of IT to build the IT budget and control IT costs.
- Actively collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve process efficiency by adopting new IT capabilities.
- Ensure proper alignment of projects from the global organization and integrate them into local planning and execution.
- Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the organization.
2)PMO Tasks:
- Support the Head of IT in various tasks.
- Create detailed reports on project progress and results.
- Prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in writing decision papers to support strategic decisions.
- Ensure approval and documentation of changes by relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare progress reports for stakeholders and management.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and methodologies within projects.
- Conduct quality checks and audits to ensure project quality.
- Maintain project management standards and methodologies within the organization.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of the English and Dutch language, both oral and written is mandatory.
- Location: Resident in or near Rotterdam, with the willingness to work 4 days per week at the terminal on the Maasvlakte.
- Education: Computer Science, Logistics, or a comparable field.
- Experience: Preferably 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a logistics or industrial environment. Experience in the industry or an international environment is a plus.
Personal Skills:
- Must have good analytical skills to relate and analyze business requirements.
- Experience with project management methodologies and PMO activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present and report effectively.
- Knowledge of and experience in creating business cases and project plans.
- Familiarity with process improvement techniques and tools.
- Strong organizational and personal discipline skills.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex requirements.
- Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment concerning colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
IT Knowledge:
- Must have IT and logistics processes knowledge. Preferably knowledge of or a strong interest in working at a container terminal.
