Graduate Internship Structural Engineering

Our fleet boasts some of the largest, most innovative and most technically advanced pipelay vessels in the world, including the world’s largest vessel "Pioneering Spirit". For decommissioning of jackets a common method is to let jacket collapse after which it is cut in pieces to be completely recycled. This avoids a lot of cranage and working at height. Nevertheless a controlled method of letting a jacket collapse should be developed. Recently two similar types of jackets were decommissioned by which one of them collapsed way earlier than the other. This raised the question how this could happen as calculation does not directly show a logical relation. Therefore Allseas want to do further research into the root cause of this collapse and develop a standard approach to be used for future jacket decommissioning.

• BSc or MSc student in Mechanical or Offshore Engineering or equivalent;
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
• Flexible, motivated and forward-thinking;
• Good analytical skills;
• Team player with ability to work on own initiative;
• An affinity with the offshore and/or marine environment is preferable.
