Junior Safety Coordinator IDC

JUNIOR SAFETY COORDINATOR OPERATIONS

To monitor and improve the health, safety and environmental awareness of our employees, visitors and contractors we are now looking for a Junior Safety Coordinator in our International Distribution Centre in Rotterdam. You are responsible for ensuring that workplace health and safety requirements are met, for the safety of the building and stock, and that the warehouse is organized according to WSS standards and local rules and regulations. This position reports to the QHSSE manager IDC

• Assisting and ensuring that all activities take place within existing permits, work instructions and applicable procedures.
• Reports and evaluates incidents with dangerous goods (to his manager and the QHSSE department).
• Assisting at making plans and provides Safety and Health training to Warehouse and Logistics staff.
• Assisting at creating Improvement Potentials in our system and supervises the execution of the necessary actions.
• Ensures a safe working environment for all employees, contractors and visitors of WSS Rotterdam.
• Maintains and takes care of the daily fire service news in ChemWatch.
• Assist and partly coordinates and ensures correct processing of waste of dangerous goods in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Checks on a regular basis if dangerous goods are handled in accordance with existing laws and regulations
• Conducts periodical inspections on safety related topics, such as racking, proper storage of goods, spillkit supplies, emergency facilities, safe handling of goods, safety walks etc, all in consultation with the safety coordinator

For this position we are looking for someone who has a preferable work experience in working in Logistics. You have interest e.g. knowledge of dangerous goods. With your good communication skills you are able to talk to employees and managers on different levels. You have a systematic and accurate way of working. You have a drive to work together with different levels in the organization on continuous improvement.

• MBO education within Logistic
• Good command of written and spoken English and Dutch
• ADR certificate /IATA-DGR certificate
• Certified forcklift driver
• Drivers license
• VCA VOL
