Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity for a Marketing Manager Wholesale Distribution (WD). Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role will provide coordination of regional marketing activities for the WD channel. It oversees the development and execution of marketing plans that support the overall company strategy and achievement of the related objectives. This role leads, coaches and develops their team of regional and/or WD account specific marketing specialists ensuring clear KPIs and execution strategies are in place for the team. They work closely with the regional sales team assuring alignment with customer priorities and sales growth initiatives.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Develop the marketing strategy, playbooks, and key initiatives tailored to support the wholesale distributor network across Europe (20%)

  • Coordinate regional marketing planning through the team of regional and key WD account marketing specialists. Oversee the timely roll-out off campaigns, activations and product launches and measure effectiveness through predefined set of performance indicators (20%)

  • Works in conjunction with the sales team in planning, coordinating and executing trade shows, campaigns and other lead generating and brand building shows/activities (10%)

  • Manages the relationship tied to local sponsorship deals, motorsports and others, ensuring we maximize the spend, experiences and local activations. Coordinates key VIP events ensuring a great customer experience and sales driving connectivity (10%)

  • Lead and develop the team of marketing specialists. Works on enhancing capabilities and team behavior within the group. Ensure proper KPIs, development plans and accountability for all their team members (10%)

  • Be a pro-active partner for the sales teams (both direct and indirect). Strive for close working relationships with an open line of communications (10%)

  • Full responsibility for building and delivering go-to-market strategy, messaging, positioning, training, collateral, programs, competitive analysis and other supporting tools in their area (5%)

  • Prepares and coordinates quarterly business reviews with key WD partners across the region. Ensures their team provides the necessary support and attendance for other business reviews and customer functions as required (5%)

  • Actively provides feedback (direct or through the team) on the market, such as competitor info, pricing and trends to the respective departments (5%)

  • Manage the assigned budgets (A&P and SAF) through diligent planning, execution, and tracking of all programs and marketing spend (5%)

Primary Interactions - Internal and External

  • Incumbent will have regular contact with several internal stakeholder groups including sales, product strategy, technical and regional marketing.

  • The incumbent will interact with external partners, being the Wholesale Distributors, external vendors and suppliers

What You’ll Need
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing; Advantage: Master's degree or higher

  • Minimum: 8-10 years of (B2B) marketing experience; Advantage: Experience of working at/or with parts distributors in the automotive, lubricants or similar industry

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Communication and interpersonal skills

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

  • Ability to communicate in other European languages is an advantage.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Pro-active, self-starter, independent, and willing to take ownership.

  • Comfortable to work in a fastmoving environment.

  • Hands-on mentality and results driven.

  • Flexible and stress resistant

  • Experienced at working in teams and with remote colleagues.

Marketing, analytical and financial skills

  • Excellent understanding of how to use marketing tools and techniques to drive demand

  • Excellent understanding of how to create value propositions.

  • Good analytical skills and ability to interpret market data.

  • Good financial acumen and able to interpret financial data.

Computer literacy

Adept at using Office 365 applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
