Senior Manager Global Tax accounting & Reporting

The terminals are strategically located for users along the major shipping routes. The majority of customers are companies operating in the oil, chemical, gas and new energy sector. Tax within Vopak is a centralized global function at the head office located in Rotterdam. Global Tax is responsible for the worldwide tax position of Vopak. Activities include but are not limited to supporting the business on tax related matters, determining the tax strategy and purpose of Vopak, managing tax governance and tax risks, tax planning and tax accounting and reporting.

You will be part of a tax team consisting of seven employees who are responsible for Vopak’s worldwide tax position. The Senior Manager Global Tax accounting & Reporting will report to the Senior Vice President Global Tax. The Senior Manager Global Tax accounting & Reporting is a new role and you will be responsible for tax accounting, compliance and process improvements.

• Coordinate and review the Group’s corporate income tax compliance.

• Oversee and ensure accurate tax accounting and tax compliance processes.

• Quarterly review of tax packages and monitor and control tax declarations;

• Preparation of the disclosures for the consolidated annual accounts.

• Support and coordinate the Pillar2, CbCR compliance process.

• Prepare effective tax rate (ETR) computations, income tax calculations for Booking entities, including current and deferred tax provision.

• Cooperate with and support in the budgeting and consolidation process for taxes;

• Develop view on future possible automation opportunities

• Liaise with the Global Control department and local Finance directors worldwide

• Carry out relevant tax trainings on the tax accounting process

• Responsible for setting up and maintaining tax accounting policies and guidelines

• Develop a view on future possible automation opportunities.

• Support in tax audits, including responding to inquiries, preparing documentation

• with questions from the Dutch Tax Authorities or internal stakeholders.

• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors regarding tax accounting matters.

• University or bachelor of science degree in Dutch Tax Law or Tax Economics.

• 7-10 years experience in (inter)national tax accounting and compliance at an accounting or law firm or in-house at a multinational.

• Solid technical knowledge of tax accounting

• Experienced with various accounting and tax systems such as OneSource and Kluwer

• Affinity with and interest in tax technology
  Analytical thinker, practical approach, able to understand the complex business and business processes

• Hands-on, team player, ability to translate complex tax issues to the business

• Proactive, enthusiastic, and driven and takes ownership of responsibilities with a positive attitude towards learning and taking on new responsibilities

• Fluent in Dutch and English.
