Distribution Representative

As a Distribution Representative you are responsible for booking transport for land, ocean and air for domestic and international shipments and solving bottlenecks as they arise.

Furthermore, you are responsible for contingency planning and generating the necessary documentation, in order to provide customers with the requested product on time and to contribute to customer satisfaction. Managing vendor KPI’s on OTIF is also a key part of the role.

Finally, you are responsible for checking invoices, handling complaints and optimizing processes, procedures and systems, so that work is done in the most efficient way possible and cost savings are realized.

You perform the function at our production location in the Botlek and work closely with other professionals within the department.

This is a full-time position. As a Distribution Representative, you are part of the Order To Delivery (OTD) department, which in turn consists of a Customer Services department, inventory management department and a Distribution department. The Distribution department consists of 11 Distribution Representatives, reporting to two Distribution Supervisors.

An assessment can be part of the selection procedure. When you are hired, a pre-employment screening will follow via an external party.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

• Accurate and fast planning of transports and taking care of the necessary documentation;
• Close collaboration with carriers in order to be able to find quick solutions;
• Investigating questions and complaints in the field of transport and logistics;
• Handling returned products;
• Providing support to the Customer Service and Sales team in managing the accounts;
• Timely identification of developments within the transport market.

• You have completed an MBO education (level 4);
• You also have a number of years of relevant work experience;
• It is an absolute must that you have a good command of the Dutch and English language
• You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP;
• You have good communication skills, are eager to learn, customer-oriented, enthusiastic and proactive;
• You can function well in a team but at the same time you can also function independently;
• You are stress resistant, can plan and organize well;
• You have perseverance, are very accurate and solution-oriented.
