Senior Data Engineer

Stolt Tankers a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL), is the specialist in transporting bulk liquids: Chemicals, clean petroleum, gases, vegetable oils, biofuels and oleochemicals.

At Stolt Tankers, we are leveraging data to revolutionize maritime logistics. As our Sr. Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Data Science and Analytics team, driving our data-centric transformation:

• Design and implement our data Lakehouse architecture using Azure and Databricks, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of our business units and application development teams.
• Develop and maintain data integration standards and practices, bridging our IT and OT landscapes to create cohesive data

• Design and implement enterprise-wide data architecture to support the entire data ecosystem.
• Develop and maintain the data Lakehouse architecture using Azure and Databricks.
• Establish and enforce data integration standards and practices across IT and OT landscapes.
• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive data governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design optimal delivery solutions.
• Architect solutions for self-service analytics and reporting while supporting advanced AI and ML initiatives.
• Oversee and optimize end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring data quality, reliability, and accessibility.
• Implement and manage data quality assurance processes, including monitoring and continuous improvement strategies.
• Guide the adoption of best practices in data engineering, mentoring junior team members

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics or Econometrics.
• 5+ years of tangible senior development experience, 2+ years of tangible architecture experience in an international environment.
• Deep understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and dimensional data modeling
• Must have experience in or exposure to the Microsoft Azure development, integration, data/analytics service portfolio, and data Lakehouse architectures.
• Strong hands-on experience in building complex ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark for data processing and analysis
• Experience in supporting AI and ML projects from a data architecture perspective
• Skills in data quality management, governance, and stakeholder engagement.
